Fatal Essex fall accident death of James Brown – Obituary
James Brown, a 50-year-old surgeon from Hockley, tragically passed away following injuries sustained from a fall at his home.
Brown, who worked for the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, was injured while cutting tree branches on January 18.
According to Essex Coroner’s Court, Brown fell from an upstairs window while tending to the garden and was discovered unresponsive in his garden by friends.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, arrived at the scene to attempt life-saving measures, but Brown was declared deceased at 10:23 pm.
The coroner noted that the second-story window was open, with tree trimmings and a hedge trimmer nearby, indicating that Brown had been leaning out the window when the fall occurred.
Coroner Michelle Brown concluded that the incident was accidental, attributing Brown’s death to multiple fatal injuries from the fall.
In a tribute, Matthew Hopkins, CEO of the hospital trust where Brown worked, praised him as an excellent and dedicated surgeon.
Hopkins highlighted Brown’s compassion, enthusiasm, and innovative contributions to digital advancements in the medical field.
Brown, described as funny and inspiring, is deeply missed by his colleagues.
