Fatal Smith Mountain Lake electrocution death of Jesse Hamric – Obituary
The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office has revealed that Jesse Hamric, an 18-year-old from Colorado, was the individual who tragically died on Thursday after an electrocution incident at a dock on Smith Mountain Lake.
According to authorities, the electrocution occurred at a dock, as confirmed by a representative from the Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue Dive Team.
The incident involved three individuals, with Hamric being the only fatality.
The other two individuals involved sustained minor injuries while attempting to assist Hamric but were treated at the scene and subsequently released.
They suffered these injuries as they tried to help Hamric, who was struggling in the water. Despite being transported to the hospital, Hamric could not be saved.
