Johnny Trailer Jr. dies in fatal Lafayette, LA, shooting inside a local business
**Fatal Lafayette, LA, shooting death of Johnny Trailer Jr. – Obituary
LAFAYETTE, La. (LPD) — On the morning of August 31, 2024, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire inside a business located in the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue. Officers arrived at approximately 9:15 a.m. and found two individuals who had been shot.
One of the victims, identified as 48-year-old Johnny Trailer Jr. from Lafayette, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
The Lafayette Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating the incident. The investigation is still ongoing.
