Fatal Coshocton County shooting death of Kaylob J. Butcher – Obituary

In a tragic incident on Monday, July 6, 2024, Kaylob J. Butcher, an 18-year-old from Killbuck, was formally charged with murder following a deadly shooting. The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office reported that emergency responders received a call at 9:11 p.m. regarding a man with gunshot wounds on County Road 19. Upon arrival, deputies found Butcher at the scene and performed lifesaving measures on the 36-year-old victim, whose identity has not been disclosed. The man was pronounced dead at the location.

 

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation Crime Scene Unit. Details about the motive, the weapon used, and the number of gunshot wounds have not yet been revealed by the sheriff’s office.

 

The response involved the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office, Coshocton County Coroner’s Office, Licking County Coroner’s Office, Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, and Holmes Fire District 1.

 

Butcher is currently held at the Coshocton Justice Center with a bond set at $150,000.
