Fatal Bexar County stabbing death of Linda Zamarripa – Obituary
A 21-year-old woman, Rachel Zamarripa, has been charged with the murder of her mother, Linda Zamarripa, following a stabbing incident in West Bexar County, Texas.
The stabbing occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at a residence located in the 1200 block of Farnsworth Drive.
After the incident, the suspect contacted authorities, admitting to stabbing a family member.
Deputies arrested Rachel Zamarripa shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, and she was formally booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center early Sunday morning, just after 5 a.m.
Jail records indicate that she is facing a first-degree murder charge, a serious felony offense.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 58-year-old Linda Zamarripa on Sunday.
Following the stabbing, Linda Zamarripa was rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to initial reports from the sheriff’s office, the 21-year-old suspect had been serving as her mother’s caregiver. Rachel Zamarripa is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
