Fatal Williamstown drowning death of Rafael Martinez Pascual – Obituary
In Williamstown, New Jersey, Rafael Martinez Pascual, a 38-year-old resident of Gloucester County, tragically drowned in the Cedar Lake Wildlife Management area on Thursday.
Pascual was swimming with friends near Jackson Road when he submerged and did not resurface. The area where the drowning occurred is restricted, and swimming is not allowed according to local regulations. Emergency responders, including divers, a watercraft, a helicopter, and drones, were deployed to locate Pascual.
His body was discovered around 5 p.m. and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Pascual, originally from Mexico but residing in Pitman, NJ, was the fourth drowning victim in Monroe Township this summer.
The Monroe Township Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident.
