Fatal Yavapai County shooting death of Shayna Feinman – Obituary

Shayna Feinman, 35, who was reported missing in March after a neighbor said she didn’t return to pick up her dog, is now presumed dead.

On Thursday, authorities charged her boyfriend and landlord with her murder.

Cavett Jack Richards, 36, and William Thomas DalCerro, 58, face charges of second-degree murder, concealment of a dead body, and conspiracy in connection with Feinman’s disappearance from the Hyde Park area on March 8, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

Feinman’s sister, Kara Feinman, revealed in an interview with Phoenix-based Arizona’s Family that Richards was her sister’s live-in boyfriend and DalCerro was their landlord. She noted that these men were the last to see her sister alive.

A neighbor who was taking care of Feinman’s dog reported her missing on March 18 after she failed to come for the pet. The neighbor discovered Feinman’s car, wallet, and ID near her home.

A witness who lived on the same property as Feinman reported hearing an argument between her and the property manager on the night she disappeared.

The witness recounted, “They were yelling and screaming at each other. He said, ‘You have to leave. I’m calling the sheriff.’ She replied, ‘I need to get my phone and keys.’”

Kara Feinman showed local NBC affiliate KPNX messages from Shayna where she expressed fears for her safety.

“She often talked about feeling scared and unsafe. It’s hard to read those messages now, knowing I could have been there for her if I had known the extent of her fear.”

Detectives, while searching for Feinman, discovered evidence of other crimes committed by Richards and DalCerro.

The men were arrested in mid-April on charges of possessing a stolen vehicle and tampering with evidence, with DalCerro also allegedly carrying an illegal weapon.

Richards and DalCerro have been in the Yavapai County Detention Center since their April arrests. Authorities have now gathered sufficient evidence to charge them with Feinman’s murder.

Although Feinman’s body has not been found, authorities are asking the public to report any suspicious activities in the desert or forested areas from west-central California through Arizona.
