Fatal Wilson, N.C., neighborhood shooting claims the life of Hayley Nicole Barbour – Obituary
A woman lost her life in a neighborhood shooting in Wilson, N.C., on Saturday evening, and a man has been apprehended in connection with the incident, according to local police.
The tragic event unfolded shortly after 7:15 p.m. on the 4300 block of Camellia Drive, located in the far northwest section of Wilson near Raleigh Road Parkway West/U.S. 264 Alternate, as stated by the Wilson Police Department.
Hayley Nicole Barbour, a 29-year-old resident of Wilson, was discovered at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound, as reported by Sgt. Eric J. McInerny of the Wilson Police.
Wilson County Emergency Medical Services arrived promptly but unfortunately pronounced Barbour deceased at the scene.
Arnold Leo Ferrell III, who was still present when authorities arrived, was taken into custody without any resistance. The 38-year-old has been charged with one count of open murder and is being held without bond.
The incident is currently under investigation, McInerny mentioned in a press release.
The shooting took place in the Surrey Meadows neighborhood, located behind Lee Nissan and Lee Ford, between Cam Strader Drive and Sweet Williams Lane.
