Fatal Orange City crash claims life of Joel Acevedo – Obituary
Joel Acevedo, 35, tragically lost his life in a bicycle accident in Orange City, Florida, on Friday night, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred near the intersection of East Graves Avenue and Raintree Drive just before 8:30 p.m., as reported by the Orange City Police Department.
Acevedo was traveling west on East Graves Avenue on his electric bicycle when he was hit head-on by a vehicle traveling east on the same road.
At this time, the speeds of both the bicycle and the car involved in the collision remain unknown.
Joel Acevedo, a resident of Orange City, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, an 80-year-old man from Deltona, was taken to a nearby hospital for a non-life-threatening medical evaluation.
Police noted that both the electric bike and the Hyundai sedan involved sustained significant damage.
