Fatal Florence County shooting death of Matthew Paul Barry – Obituary
The suspect involved in a confrontation with law enforcement in Florence County has died, according to Coroner Keith von Lutcken.
On Monday night, officers were executing a search warrant at an address on Brittany Drive when Matthew Paul Barry, 41, reportedly opened fire. During the exchange, Barry was shot by the authorities and was declared dead at the scene.
Barry was a suspect in the fatal shooting of Idris Chance Ali Cooper, 34, who was found deceased at Colonial Drive Apartments the previous Sunday.
