Rafael Martinez Pascual dies in fatal Williamstown drowning incident
Fatal Williamstown drowning death of Rafael Martinez Pascual – Obituary
Rafael Martinez Pascual, a 38-year-old resident of Pitman, New Jersey, drowned in the Cedar Lake Wildlife Management area in Williamstown on Thursday, according to Monroe Township police. Pascual was swimming with friends near Jackson Road when he went underwater and did not resurface. The swimming area where they were located is closed to the public and swimming is not allowed, as per Wildlife Management Area regulations.
Emergency responders, including divers, a watercraft, a helicopter, and drones, were involved in the search for Pascual. His body was discovered around 5 p.m. by a rescue diver, and he was declared dead at the scene. Pascual, originally from Mexico, is the fourth person to drown in Monroe Township this summer. The Monroe Township Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident.
