Fatal Queens moped crash claims the life of Andy Rodriguez – Obituary.
A tragic moped accident on the Cross Island Parkway in Queens over the weekend resulted in the deaths of two teenagers, according to police reports. The incident occurred early Saturday morning at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes near 150th Street.
Authorities revealed that the moped, carrying a 19-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy, crashed into a barrier wall.
The collision caused both riders to be thrown from the vehicle. Responding officers discovered an unresponsive 19-year-old woman, identified as Giselle Flores, near the severely damaged Zhilo Fly Wing moped. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after, police were informed that a 15-year-old boy, Andy Rodriguez, had been transported to Flushing Hospital Medical Center with injuries sustained in the crash.
Despite medical efforts, Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is still ongoing.
