Toronto police have identified Kayelin Rider-Downey, a 16-year-old, as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in Scarborough.
The incident, which is being investigated as a targeted attack, happened in the vicinity of Glendower Circuit and Birchmount Road.
According to police spokesperson Cindy Chung, the shooting followed an altercation in front of a local plaza on Saturday.
Two men are believed to be responsible for the shooting. One suspect was wearing a red hat, red shirt, and tan shorts, while the other was dressed in a black hoodie.
The first suspect reportedly fled on foot, while the second escaped in a white SUV. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 416-808-4200.
