Fatal Burnett County crash death of Layne W. Leitner and Kyle R. Orloske – Obituary
In Burnett County, two individuals were killed and a third was injured in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.
The collision occurred on E. Bass Lake Rd. in Oakland Township, with dispatchers receiving a call from OnStar at 2:01 a.m.
Upon arrival, authorities found the driver and front passenger deceased. They have been identified as Layne W. Leitner, 25, from Bloomington, and Kyle R. Orloske, 34, from White Bear Lake. The surviving passenger was trapped inside the vehicle and required extrication before being transported to the hospital by Air Care.
Preliminary investigations suggest that alcohol may have contributed to the accident.
The vehicle is reported to have veered off the road and struck a tree, traveling approximately 120 feet before impact. The Wisconsin State Patrol has been called in to conduct a crash reconstruction.
Assisting in the response were North Memorial Ambulance, North Air Care, Webster Fire Department, St. Croix Tribal Police, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
