Fatal Nashville shooting death of Angel Valdez-Nives – Obituary
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Metro Nashville Police Department has identified the teenager killed in a double homicide on Fields Drive.
The incident, which occurred during a party, led to the deaths of 19-year-old Angel Valdez-Nives and 41-year-old Steven Gutierrez.
According to police, the two men became involved in an altercation at the gathering.
During the fight, Valdez-Nives allegedly drew a firearm and shot Gutierrez multiple times. Gutierrez was rushed to Skyline Medical Center but did not survive his injuries.
Following the shooting, Valdez-Nives reportedly fled the scene with a group of friends.
However, he was later dropped off at TriStar Summit Medical Center, suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine when Valdez-Nives was shot and who was responsible for the fatal injury.
