Fatal Evansville car crash death of Joseph Glenn Defur – Obituary
A man from Fort Branch, Indiana, lost his life in a tragic accident on Saturday night near the junction of Interstate 69 and East Morgan Avenue in Evansville.
Emergency responders, including police and paramedics, arrived at Mile Marker 9 on I-69 shortly before 10:30 p.m. after reports of a serious collision. Upon arrival, they discovered 52-year-old Joseph Glenn Defur had died at the scene, according to information from the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.
Sgt. Taylor Merriss of the Evansville Police Department confirmed that Defur was driving one of the vehicles involved in the accident. The other driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where they underwent a toxicology test and received medical attention for any potential injuries, as reported by Merriss.
As of Tuesday morning, the toxicology results were still pending, and the investigation remains ongoing until those results are reviewed.
