A 62-year-old man, Raffaele Bruzzese, tragically lost his life when a tree collapsed on him while he was operating a skid steer, trapping him beneath it, as reported by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
On Saturday at 1:14 p.m., the Rockland Police Department received an emergency call from a Central Street neighbor who witnessed the incident. The call detailed how Bruzzese was working with a skid steer when the tree fell, pinning him down.
Rockland police and fire personnel arrived at the scene and transported Bruzzese to South Shore Hospital, where he was subsequently declared dead due to his injuries.
The Rockland police have enlisted the district attorney’s office detective unit to investigate the incident. According to the district attorney’s office, the investigation is still in progress, but no indications of foul play have been identified.
