Rocio Lupian-Lopez dies in fatal Ukiah incident near Lake Mendocino
Fatal Ukiah incident claims the life of Rocio Lupian-Lopez – Obituary.
On the evening of September 1, 2024, at around 9:21 p.m., deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were called to the Lake Mendocino Spillway near Rafello Drive in Ukiah, California, to conduct a coroner’s investigation.
Upon their arrival, they discovered that a passerby had found an unresponsive woman in the bushes near a hiking trail.
Emergency medical services were called, but the woman, later identified as 29-year-old Rocio Lupian-Lopez from Ukiah, was pronounced dead at the scene.
As deputies carried out their investigation, a family member of Lupian-Lopez arrived at the site, having been searching for her after she failed to return from a walk. The family was informed of her passing during the investigation.
Detectives from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office joined the investigation and found that Lupian-Lopez had experienced recent medical issues, which are believed to have played a role in her sudden death. After a thorough investigation, authorities have stated that foul play is not suspected.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for later this week, but the official cause of death will remain undisclosed until the autopsy report is finalized.
