Fatal Fresno County ATV crash claims the lives of Silvestre Sandoval Romo and Guadalupe Ruiz Pina – Obituary.
A tragic ATV accident on Saturday morning in western Fresno County resulted in the deaths of two individuals, who have now been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office. The victims are 24-year-old Silvestre Sandoval Romo from Mendota and 22-year-old Guadalupe Ruiz Pina.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. on Santa Fe Grade near West Shaw Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. Romo and Pina were riding a Yamaha Raptor Quad, heading south on Santa Fe at a high speed. As they approached a parked trailer, Romo failed to slow down and collided with it.
Neither Romo nor Pina were wearing helmets, and both were pronounced dead at the scene. It is currently unclear if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
