Fatal Fresno County ATV crash death of Silvestre Sandoval Romo and Guadalupe Ruiz Pina – Obituary
On Saturday morning, a tragic ATV accident occurred in western Fresno County, resulting in the deaths of Silvestre Sandoval Romo, 24, from Mendota, and his passenger, Guadalupe Ruiz Pina, 22. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has confirmed their identities.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place shortly after 6 a.m. on Santa Fe Grade near West Shaw Avenue.
Romo and Pina were riding a Yamaha Raptor Quad at high speed when they approached a parked trailer. Romo, failing to reduce speed, collided with the trailer.
Neither Romo nor Pina were wearing helmets at the time, and both were pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
