Anita Rose dies in fatal Brantham dog walk attack

Fatal Brantham assault death of Anita Rose – Obituary.

Anita Rose, a 57-year-old mother of six, was found unconscious after taking her dog Bruce for a walk, and passed away four days later in the hospital. Suffolk Police, who are investigating her murder, recently identified one of two individuals captured on CCTV, hoping they could provide vital information.

On July 24, Ms. Rose left her home around 5 a.m. to walk her springer spaniel, Bruce. She was discovered around 6:25 a.m. near Rectory Lane in Brantham with severe head injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.

Suffolk Police have arrested three people in connection to the investigation: two men, one in his 20s and a 45-year-old, both on suspicion of murder, and a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of handling stolen property. All have been released on bail.

Last week, the police released CCTV images of two potential witnesses they are eager to speak with, clarifying that these individuals are not suspects but may have useful information. One has been identified and is helping with inquiries, but the second person remains unknown. Detective Superintendent Mike Brown urged the public for any information that might aid in identifying this second witness.

Brown reassured the community that the investigation is a top priority, acknowledging the increased police presence in the area. Officers have been conducting door-to-door inquiries, and police presence has grown as more officers are being assigned from across various law enforcement agencies to assist.

A tracking app on Anita’s phone shows her walk began at 5 a.m. and followed her usual route along Newmill Lane before ending near The Street at 6:03 a.m., where the app was manually stopped.

Police continue to ask anyone who may have seen Ms. Rose between 6 and 6:30 a.m. or noticed any suspicious activity in the area around Newmill Lane, The Street, or near Rectory Lane to come forward. They are also seeking any information about her missing jacket, a cerise Regatta Calderdale II, and her black wallet-style phone case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk Police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
