A 21-year-old college football player was fatally shot in Charleston, West Virginia, on Wednesday night. The victim has been identified by police as Jyilek Harrington, a linebacker for West Virginia State University, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Charleston police responded to a report of gunfire on the 700 block of Regency Drive, where they discovered Harrington. Despite efforts by first responders to save him, Harrington succumbed to his injuries.
Harrington was a senior at West Virginia State University, having transferred there earlier this year. He played inside linebacker
