Fatal Winnipeg car crash claims the life of 40-year-old Nardia Cameria Bedward – Obituary
A tragic collision occurred at the intersection of Portage Avenue and Bedson Street in Winnipeg on Friday morning, resulting in the death of a local woman. The incident took place around 7:39 a.m. on September 13 when emergency services were alerted to a serious accident involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service found that the pedestrian, later identified as 40-year-old Nardia Cameria Bedward, had passed away from her injuries. Three other individuals involved in the crash were transported to the hospital and are currently in stable condition.
According to investigators, the collision happened when a Ford F150 truck, heading eastbound on Portage Avenue, struck both Bedward and a bus shelter. The crash also caused damage to another vehicle, a hydro pole, and a nearby gas station.
On Saturday, September 14, Winnipeg police publicly identified Bedward as the victim of the fatal crash, with her family having been notified.
The Winnipeg Police Service’s Traffic Division continues to investigate and is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has video footage, including dashcam recordings, to come forward.
