Winnipeg police have confirmed the identity of the pedestrian who lost her life in a tragic accident early Friday morning. Nardia Cameria Bedward, a 40-year-old resident of Winnipeg, was killed when a pickup truck collided with her and a nearby bus shelter on Portage Avenue, close to Bedson Street.
Authorities have informed Bedward’s family about the incident. Additionally, three other individuals involved in the crash were transported to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
According to police, the collision occurred around 7:39 a.m. when a Ford F-150 traveling eastbound on Portage Avenue struck Bedward. The accident also caused damage to an SUV, a hydro pole, and a nearby gas station. Portage Avenue remained closed for much of the day as investigators examined the scene.
Police are urging anyone with information or video footage of the accident to reach out to them or contact Crime Stoppers.
