Fatal Indianapolis shooting death of Chanti Dixon – Obituary
Chanti Dixon, a 30-year-old Indianapolis woman, has tragically died following a shooting incident involving an Uber driver, Francisco Valadez, 29. Valadez has been officially charged with murder, attempted rape, and attempted abuse of a corpse in Marion County.
Last Tuesday, Valadez was apprehended by IMPD homicide detectives after he
confessed to killing Dixon in a violent outburst after attempting to sexually
assault her during an Uber ride. He admitted to shooting Dixon and then disposing of her body in an alleyway, with her phones discarded in a nearby wooded
area.
IMPD Chief Chris Bailey condemned the incident, labeling it as deeply disturbing and unnecessary. The gruesome discovery of Dixon’s body occurred last Monday around 1 p.m. when police were summoned to Wagner Lane. Her body was found naked and unresponsive, leading to immediate efforts to locate her identity. Her family had tracked her phone to the location where her body was discovered.
The investigation revealed Dixon had
ordered an Uber at 3:34 a.m. and had made
a brief stop before being taken to her home.
