Fatal Stepney stabbing death of Charlotte Lawler, 31 – Obituary.
Police have revealed that the victim of a deadly stabbing in east London was Charlotte Lawler, 31, who was killed in a flat in Stepney on Sunday. Hope Rowe, 32, from east London, has been charged with Lawler’s murder.
Rowe is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Along with the murder charge, she faces an additional charge of possessing a bladed weapon. A 37-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail.
The incident occurred around 1:17 a.m. on Sunday, September 15, when police were alerted to reports of a woman suffering from stab wounds in the foyer of a block of flats on Duckett Street. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene, but Lawler was pronounced dead.
Although formal identification is pending, the authorities are confident the victim is Charlotte Lawler. Her family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
Forensics teams remain on-site, gathering evidence while detectives conduct door-to-door inquiries. CCTV footage from the surrounding area, including doorbell cameras, will also be examined as part of the investigation.
