Fatal Richland County shooting death of Corey Johns and Jibaris Veal – Obituary
The Richland County Coroner has confirmed the identities of two men who were fatally shot near Columbia on Saturday night. The victims, Corey Johns, aged 40, from Lexington, and Jibaris Veal, aged 37, from Columbia, were discovered deceased in the 300 block of Koon Store Road, a short distance off Fairfield Road and a few miles north of Columbia. Deputies responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. after receiving a report of the shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies found a Jeep Cherokee inside a shed on the property, with the two men inside. The circumstances leading up to the shooting and the identity of the perpetrator remain unknown at this time.
