Fatal Northeast Washington, D.C. shooting death of Erik Mewborn – Obituary.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has confirmed the identity of the man killed in a shooting on Saturday in Northeast Washington, D.C. The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Erik Mewborn, a resident of the area.
The incident occurred on September 14, just after 5 a.m., when officers responded to reports of an unresponsive person in the 2200 block of Adams Place. Upon arrival, authorities found Mewborn with a gunshot wound.
DC Fire and EMS were called to the scene but were unable to save Mewborn, who was pronounced dead at the location.
The investigation remains active, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling 202-727-9099 or texting tips to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
