Fatal Tucson shooting death of Manuel A. Avechuco – Obituary
In Tucson, Arizona, a tragic shooting on the city’s southside has resulted in the death of 44-year-old Manuel A. Avechuco. On Saturday night, Tucson Police responded to a call for assistance at W. Calle Evelina, near S. Calle Pinta. Initially reported as an “unknown trouble call,” the situation was soon upgraded to a shooting incident when the caller described an unresponsive man found in the street.
Arriving shortly after 10:30 pm, officers discovered Avechuco in the 800 block of W. Calle Evelina with visible gunshot injuries. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by both the police and Tucson Fire Medics, Avechuco was declared deceased at the scene.
The Tucson Police Department has yet to identify any suspects, and the investigation into this case is ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
