Fatal Tyler crash claims the lives of Tammy Gibney and Chelsea Askew – Obituary
Two adults lost their lives, and a child remains in critical condition following a tragic crash in Tyler, Texas, over the weekend. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, September 14, around 8:20 p.m., is currently under investigation by the Tyler Police Department.
Authorities report that a pickup truck was traveling south on FM 2015 when it collided with a minivan heading northeast on Hwy. 271. The driver of the minivan, 62-year-old Tammy Gibney, and the front-seat passenger, 39-year-old Chelsea Askew, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
An 11-year-old child, also a passenger in the minivan, was critically injured and airlifted to a hospital in Dallas for emergency treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care, and charges related to the crash are currently pending.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
