Fatal Waldorf shooting death of Antoine Jerome Whitaker – Obituary
On September 16 at 1:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 11600 block of Lewisham Place in Waldorf following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound. Despite first aid efforts by Fire/EMS, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspects were seen fleeing in a U-Haul truck. Although officers pursued and tried to stop the truck, the driver did not comply.
Stop sticks were used, causing the truck to halt near Crain Highway and Plaza Drive. The suspects were then taken into custody without further issues. Initial findings indicate that a dispute occurred between the victim and the suspects, leading to the shooting.
The deceased has been identified as Antoine Jerome Whitaker, 44, from Washington, D.C. After consulting with the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office, suspects Anton Jermaine Wood, 22, and Rayvon Kojak Gordon, 50, have been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses. They are currently held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center.
