Fatal Dauphin County single-vehicle crash death of Dennis Decker – Obituary
A tragic accident on Route 322 west late Sunday night resulted in the death of Dennis Decker, 44, from Philadelphia City. According to the Dauphin County Coroner, Decker succumbed to multiple traumatic injuries, and the death has been ruled accidental.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 11:48 p.m. Reports indicate that Decker’s black Hyundai Sonata was traveling at high speeds when it veered onto the left shoulder, then swerved into a grassy area on the right shoulder. The cause of the swerving remains unclear. The vehicle then struck a culvert box before crashing into a concrete pier of the Fishing Creek Valley overpass.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Westbound lanes at the Route 39 exit were closed but have since reopened.
