A high-speed chase involving a stolen Lamborghini concluded tragically last week, resulting in the death of Elliot Dugan, a 51-year-old Los Angeles resident.
The Los Angeles Police Department identified Dugan as the fatality after a pursuit that ended with a violent collision. On April 6, LAPD officers from the West Valley Division saw Dugan in a gray 2019 Lamborghini Huracan, appearing to be asleep at the wheel. Upon attempting a traffic stop, they learned he had several felony warrants and was driving a stolen vehicle.
Dugan fled, leading to a brief high-speed chase. The pursuit ended when he lost control of the Lamborghini, crashing into the median and trees along Sherman Way. The car was split apart, and Dugan was thrown onto a sidewalk. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The LAPD’s Multi-Disciplinary Collision Investigation Team (MCIT) is investigating the incident. Several parked cars along Sherman Way were damaged, but no bystanders were injured.
