A Lima man is being held without bail at the Allen County Jail as a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday. Jacob Striff, 23, faces preliminary charges of murder in connection with the death of Jeffery Scott Paxton Jr.
According to initial reports from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene of a shooting on Tuesday afternoon at 1820 Charledon Avenue in Perry Township. Upon arrival, they found 41-year-old Jeffery Scott Paxton Jr. from Lima with gunshot wounds. Paxton was taken to Lima Memorial Health System where he was pronounced dead.
Striff was arrested at the scene without any issues and has been charged with murder. An autopsy will be conducted by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, and the investigation is ongoing, as per an update from the sheriff’s office.
