A Rock Falls man has been killed, and authorities are seeking assistance from the public to track down his attacker. On Tuesday, September 17, around 10:24 p.m., Rock Falls Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 1700 block of 14th Avenue. They discovered Jasen M. Bell, 42, deceased in the 1300 block of West 17th Street. An autopsy was performed on September 18, and a homicide investigation is currently in progress.
The Rock Falls Police Department, along with the Sterling Police Department, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, and Illinois State Police, are investigating the case but have yet to identify a suspect.
