Fatal Woori Yallock crash claims the life of Jason Wong – Obituary
Jason Wong, a 39-year-old father, has been identified as the victim in a deadly road rage incident in Woori Yallock, Victoria. The tragic event unfolded just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Warburton Highway and Elvian Road, east of Melbourne.
Wong was driving home when a green Holden Commodore aggressively tailgated his vehicle. The Commodore repeatedly bumped Wong’s car as he drove through Seville toward Woori Yallock, about 56 kilometers east of Melbourne. Witness Darren Sadler described the Commodore’s actions as aggressive, with the driver revving the engine and pushing Wong’s car.
Wong pulled over on Elvian Road to inspect the damage, but the other driver continued to taunt him, spinning his car in circles in front of Wong as he stood outside. Witnesses described hearing a loud crash and seeing the cars chase each other before Wong was found pinned under his vehicle in a nearby ditch.
According to police, Wong’s car had rolled backward while he was outside inspecting it, trapping him beneath the vehicle. Witnesses attempted to comfort Wong as they waited for emergency services. Darren Sadler recounted how he turned Wong’s head to help him breathe and reassured him that help was on the way.
One bystander managed to use a jack to lift the car and pull Wong to safety, but unfortunately, he could not be revived and died at the scene. Authorities are now searching for the driver of the green Holden Commodore, who fled the scene. Police urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
