Fatal Wolcottville shooting death of Rebecca Hughes – Obituary
In a tragic incident in Wolcottville, Indiana, authorities discovered Rebecca Hughes and her three young daughters deceased inside their home on Tuesday. The Indiana State Police reported that Wolcottville Police Department officers were dispatched for a welfare check around 11:20 a.m. and found the family members dead at the scene. Following this, state police were contacted, and detectives along with crime scene investigators were sent to the residence.
The police confirmed that there was no ongoing threat to the public but did not release additional details at the time. On Wednesday, the Noble County Coroner named the victims as 32-year-old Rebecca Hughes, 8-year-old Evalynn Newell, 6-year-old Allison Newell, and 5-year-old Amelia Newell. The investigation into their cause and manner of death is still ongoing.
A memorial has been growing outside the family’s home, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with funeral expenses.
