Anthony Smith dies in fatal Milton industrial accident
Fatal Milton industrial accident death of Anthony Smith – Obituary
A 42-year-old man from Milton, Anthony T. Smith, tragically lost his life on Wednesday at approximately 12:21 p.m. when he became ensnared in a compactor at Cottrell Paper Company, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Despite the efforts of the Rock City Falls Fire Department and Community EMS, Smith could not be revived after being extricated from the machine. The county coroner, Susan Hayes-Masa, confirmed his death at the scene. Investigators are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Assisting deputies on-site were State Police and representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Cottrell Paper is known for producing electrical insulation and specialty papers, as noted on their official website.
