Eric Ivan Searcy-Bryson dies in fatal Macon shooting

Authorities in Bibb County have confirmed that Eric Ivan Searcy-Bryson was shot and killed after attempting to enter a parked vehicle at the Riverview Hotel. The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
Responding to reports of gunfire, deputies arrived at the hotel on Broadway, where they discovered Searcy-Bryson had tried to access a parked Mercedes sedan. The occupant inside the vehicle then fired shots at him.
Emergency medical personnel provided care at the scene before transporting Searcy-Bryson to Atrium Health Navicent, where he later succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by medical staff. Fortunately, no other individuals were reported hurt during the incident.
