A motorcyclist lost his life in a multi-vehicle accident in Southampton, according to local authorities. Johnny Epperson Jr., aged 67 and hailing from Hainesport, was riding northbound on Route 206 when he collided with the back of a car shortly before 12:40 p.m. on September 15. The impact caused his motorcycle to flip into the southbound lane, where he was struck by an approaching truck at milepost 23.3.
The driver of the truck, who reportedly did not realize he had hit anyone, failed to stop at the scene. Police have since identified the driver, who is now cooperating with the investigation.
