Jose Santoyo dies in fatal La Jolla cliffside fall
Fatal La Jolla cliffside fall death of Jose Santoyo – Obituary.
Authorities have identified a 42-year-old man who tragically fell while hiking on a cliffside trail near Black’s Beach this week. Jose Santoyo, a resident of San Diego, reportedly lost his footing while descending the bluff along Torrey Pines Scenic Drive with friends on Tuesday afternoon, as confirmed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Santoyo fell approximately 10 feet onto a lower ledge. His friends immediately called 911 and attempted to perform CPR until paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Santoyo was pronounced dead at the scene around 3:45 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s report.
