Fatal Shawnee County crash death of Julie A. Tibbits – Obituary.
Julie A. Tibbits, 45, from Topeka, lost her life in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday in northeast Shawnee County, as confirmed by a sheriff’s office spokesperson on Monday afternoon. The identities, ages, and genders of four other individuals who sustained injuries in the incident have not been released.
Deputies responded to the collision shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of N.E. 62nd and Kincaid Road, where Tibbits was pronounced dead, according to Deputy Abigail Christian of the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office. The injured parties were transported to a Topeka hospital by American Medical Response ambulance.
An investigation is underway by the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office to determine the factors leading to the fatal accident, which involved a Dodge sedan carrying two people traveling south on N.E. Kincaid Road and a Buick SUV with four occupants heading south on N.E. 62nd Street, Christian noted. Further details about the crash have not been disclosed.
