The family of Rob Kerr, who passed away following an assault in Blackpool, has shared heartfelt tributes. On September 7, staff at Blackpool Victoria Hospital alerted police after Mr. Kerr, 42, arrived at the emergency department with serious injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on September 17.
Authorities suspect that Mr. Kerr was attacked at his home on Coronation Street, likely late on September 1 or in the early hours of September 2. The investigation has led to the arrest of four individuals. A 27-year-old man has been released without charge, while three others, aged 21, 29, and 40, have been granted bail pending further inquiries. A fifth suspect, a 22-year-old man from Blackpool, was arrested today on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
In a tribute, Mr. Kerr’s mother expressed her devastation, stating, “Rob was my youngest son among five siblings. He was kind-hearted and protective, especially towards me and his three children. His love for them was immense.” She urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the heartbreak the family is enduring.
Detective Chief Inspector John McNamara, leading the investigation, expressed his condolences to Mr. Kerr’s family and reiterated the need for public assistance. He encouraged anyone with information related to the case to contact police and help clarify the circumstances surrounding Mr. Kerr’s tragic death.
