Fatal rural Pekin car crash death of Christie Campbell – Obituary
Christie Campbell, 62, of Pekin, has been identified as the victim of a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday morning in rural Pekin, according to the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
The incident took place around 9:51 a.m. at the intersection of Thompson Road and Illinois Route 29. The collision involved a Toyota passenger car, driven by Campbell, and a semi-truck with a trailer. Campbell, who was the only person in the Toyota, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:30 a.m.
An autopsy conducted by the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office on Friday revealed that Campbell died from multiple blunt force injuries caused by the crash.
This fatal crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police, Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
