The Mahoning County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the man who lost his life on September 15 in a Coitsville motel parking area. He has been named as 34-year-old Shawn Pounds.
Local authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding Pounds’ death, which occurred after he was struck by a vehicle. According to Coitsville Police Chief Michael Morris, the tragic event took place around 9:30 PM in the parking lot of Kings Motel, involving a pickup truck.
Chief Morris indicated that the situation appeared to involve a domestic dispute, noting that the woman behind the wheel of the truck alleged that she was being held against her will by Pounds. The police are currently examining the validity of this claim.
As of now, no charges have been brought forth, and the investigation remains ongoing.
