PITTSBURGH, PA — Brooke Howard, 20, of Pitcairn, lost her life early Saturday morning in a car accident on the Parkway East in Pittsburgh. The collision took place in the westbound lanes near the Oakland area of the city.
Pennsylvania State Police reported that the crash occurred when a speeding sedan lost control and collided with a barrier. Howard, who was seated in the front passenger seat, died at the scene.
The rear seat passenger sustained serious injuries, while the driver suffered only minor injuries. Authorities noted that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
The incident is still under investigation by the police.
