In the early hours of September 21, 2024, a shooting in north Fargo resulted in the death of 24-year-old Tyreik Taylor-Roberts. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. outside a residence located in the 1300 block of Eighth Avenue North, close to the Family Fare supermarket.
Authorities cordoned off the area surrounding the Pershing Park apartment complex as they began their investigation. On Saturday, the neighborhood remained largely quiet, with police issuing a statement at 2:13 a.m. confirming the presence of a male victim who had been shot fatally.
The suspect, identified as Tyreik Taylor-Roberts, was apprehended without resistance at the scene. Taylor-Roberts, who previously worked at Deek’s Pizza, had been interviewed by local media about the increased pizza orders during the pandemic’s Super Bowl period in 2021.
A firearm believed to have been involved in the shooting was recovered on-site. According to police reports, Taylor-Roberts confessed to being the shooter and has since been booked into the Cass County Jail facing murder charges.
