A 77-year-old man who lost his life following a crash near downtown Fort Wayne this past weekend has been identified as Charlie Morris Jr., a resident of Fort Wayne.
The collision, which occurred at the intersection of Maumee and Grant avenues on Saturday, involved two vehicles. Morris was inside a Dodge Charger when the crash took place. Emergency responders arrived to find him trapped in the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
According to the coroner, Morris died from multiple blunt force injuries, and his death has been classified as an accident.
Another man, who was found next to a Hyundai Elantra, was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities suspect that speed may have played a role in the crash, which is still under investigation.
