A 31-year-old man experiencing homelessness was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Arroyo Seco Parkway close to Highland Park. Authorities with the California Highway Patrol received a call around 1:28 a.m. on Saturday regarding the incident, where they discovered the victim lying in a lane of traffic near the Avenue 43 exit.
According to CHP Officer M. Reyes Lopez, preliminary findings indicated that the collision involved an unknown vehicle striking the pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The man suffered severe injuries from the accident and was pronounced dead at the location by emergency responders. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified him as Christopher King.
