Funeral plans have been shared for St. Louis Police Officer David Lee, who tragically lost his life after being struck while assisting at the scene of an earlier accident on Interstate 70 near Adelaide Avenue on Sunday morning. He succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon.
The St. Louis police department has released the following details regarding Officer Lee’s funeral:
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church, located at 5515 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, St. Louis, MO, 63112. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 P.M. on the same day. The family has requested that there will be no interment.
Officer Lee was a lifelong resident of St. Louis and graduated from Pattonville High School. His sister, Danielle Williams, remembered him as her lifelong protector, a role he also embraced during his 18 years with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. His wife, Tonya Lee, shared that he was a devoted father to their 23-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter.
